The leading supplier of smart glasses and AR tech products, Vuzix® Corporation, announced that BlueJeans by Verizon is looking towards boosting service delivery, reliability, and quality through Verizon’s 5G network and the power of Mobile Edge Computing (MEC). The initiatives would significantly expand the potential applications and overall performance of BlueJeans running on Vuzix Smart Glasses.
BlueJeans allows the networks to execute more compute-intensive workloads that frees up the mobile endpoint to deliver a truly unique video conferencing experience. Verizon specifically designed it to enhance the user experience on the Vuzix M400 and M4000 Smart Glasses. These state-of-the-art devices feature an 8-core processor, 4K capable phase-detect auto-focus camera, voice-activation, noise-canceling microphones, extended battery life, and a variety of wearable mounting options.
The software is free to download on the Vuzix App Store. Users with an active BlueJeans license can easily augment their productivity during a BlueJeans Meeting. It also simplifies the process for the users by allowing them to join a meeting using a QR code instead of complex meeting IDs.
“5G and edge computing are important elements to ultimately deliver low latency and optimal performance of powerful smart glasses-based applications to enterprise customers. The availability of BlueJeans on Vuzix Smart Glasses for Verizon business customers in combination with Verizon’s ultra-wideband 5G network can help deliver critical information hands-free to assist frontline workers across multiple market verticals,” said Paul Travers, President, and Chief Executive Officer at Vuzix.
