Augmented reality technology company Geenee Inc. has unveiled a WebAR Full-Body Tracking SDK. The 3D AR try-on solution enables the users to put on digital garments or avatars that act on their movements in real-time without downloading any external application.

The company will roll out the SDK to its agency partners and developers. Any interested developer can apply for Geenee’s Partner Labs Program to access the platform. It will also become a part of Geenee’s drag and drop WebAR Builder, a no-code interface, in early 2022. The company’s partners will get three free months of non-commercial use of the SDK to develop various creative examples of the technology for Web 3.0 and metaverse applications.

“We’ve hit a major milestone for the AR/VR industry, allowing people to wear three-dimensional digital clothing without an app, quickly and easily. This is the most impactful innovation for fashion since the buy button. Moreover, the ability to be a 3D avatar in AR will change how we perceive ourselves and others, broadening identity to be more inclusive and diverse,” said Heather Lipner, Head of Product Design at Geenee Inc.

As per the company, the numerous prevalent uses of full-body tracking in AR are restricted because of the requirement of a separate application. However, its 3D Full-BodyTracking SDK solution banks on WebAR for virtual try-on, avatar accessories, digital twins, interactive moments, games, and NFT wearables.

Most importantly, it eliminated the need for the user to download an app for accessing the AR experiences. A user can simply scan a QR code or visit a URL to access the digital content.
