The leading supplier of smart glasses and augmented reality tech, Vuzix, is collaborating with the global surgical training nonprofit organization, Ohana One, and the healthcare-focused AR, AI, and IoT solutions innovator, TeleVU, to assist medical personnel in Ukraine.

Vuzix develops personal display and wearable computing devices, offering users a high-quality viewing experience and delivering mobility, wearable displays, and augmented reality solutions. Ohana One curates high-quality surgical and anesthesia programs for developing areas around the globe. TeleVU leverages the power of AR, AI, & IoT to create an ecosystem of connected devices and applications for the healthcare sector.

The Russia-Ukraine war has put pressure on doctors and other medical professionals in the country due to a large number of military and civilian casualties. To help the healthcare sector in the country, Vuzix has donated a number of M400 smart glasses running TeleVU software that will reach their beneficiaries through Ohana One’s borderless mentor/mentee effort.

The solutions will help doctors in Ukraine cooperate with leading medical professionals worldwide through live studio-quality feeds, recorded videos, high-definition images, and writing on top of captured images. The doctors connected with them can provide commentary and written instructions and point out areas that need special attention or direction, similar to them being present in the operating room.

The smart glasses and software help to work in a collaborative environment with medical professionals from around the globe who can provide support during the surgery, preoperative planning, and postoperative monitoring.
