Rhinos Interactive, a web game developer, indicated that Muyuan Technology, a Kuaishou’s affiliated companies, has become Rhinos’ second-largest shareholder.
Muyuan Technology now holds 25% of Rhinos’ shares, while the registered capital of the gaming company has grown from around 2.3 million yuan to about 3.1 million yuan, with a growth rate of 33%.
Muyan Technology is the single shareholder of Huayi Huilon Network Technology, a Beijing-based company that controls the shareholder of Kuaishou, a viral short video sharing platform.
Rhinos Interactive, founded in 2015, is a web game developer committed to dance and music games focused on mobile games and the VR segment. Rhinos Interactive focuses on female entertainment, providing users with light games.
Rhinos Interactive has recently stated that it has received two rounds of financing, including an angel round by China Capital Zhongcai Fund Management in June 2016 and this new strategic one by Kuaishou. The amount received is not disclosed.
Shanghai Jiante Life Technology, which is a subsidiary of Giant Investment, is one of the shareholders of Rhinos Interactive. Also, the investment in Rhinos Interactive signifies another move for Kuaishou within the gaming business. Earlier in December, Baby Elephant Entertainment, an esport multi-channel network, also obtained new capital from the company. Baby Elephant Entertainment is a startup founded by Yuxiao Dou, a former livestreamer with YY and Huya livestream’s revenue unit head.
