Online fitness community SWEAT introduced a miniature fitness challenge powered by augmented reality to get your body moving through an interactive Snapchat Lens.
The company stated through a YouTube video, “We’ve partnered with Snapchat, using new and exciting augmented reality technology to give you a mini challenge with our Snapchat lens that’s SO fun, you’ll forget you’re even working out.”
The experience is available for free on the Snapchat app, both on iOS and Android. As a part of the challenge, fitness coach Cass Olholm, will guide you to complete a series of exercises including everything from basic squats and lunges to Russian twists and other cardio-based movements.
This app will track your movements using your phone’s front camera in real-time. It will also keep a tab on aspects like the quality of your form and the number of reps you do for each exercise. It will push you to perform as many reps as you can before the timer runs out.
You just need to download the Snapchat app to get started, then find an open space and adjust your phone in a way where your forward-facing camera has your entire body in the frame.
SWEAT’s fitness-focused Snapchat Lens is 100% free of charge and aims to get you moving again as the pandemic begins to fade.
