The Grammy-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion announced the launch of a virtual reality concert tour called ‘Enter Thee Hottieverse’ produced by AmazeVR, a West Hollywood VR startup. The tour will go around 10 US cities where fans will visit movie theaters, strap on VR headsets, and experience the rapper performing a pre-recorded set.

AmazeVR had recently raised $15 million to help artists bring VR concerts to their fans. However, unlike usual VR shows, Megan and the company expect attendees to have a more engaging experience if they are gathered at the same place.

“Virtual reality has always been an interest of mine, and I’m glad that we’ll be able to make history with this experience,” said Megan. “My hotties will get to watch me perform in a completely different and unique way, and I appreciate the AmazeVR team for helping me to bring this VR vision to life.”

AmazeVR will neither present an avatar version of Megan to the audiences nor just play a simple concert tape on the VR headsets. Instead, the experience incorporates exciting 3D, live-action videos within computer-generated worlds. For instance, the Megan concert will take attendees through a multi-song set, moving across a series of environments.

The company has so far raised $31 million since its inception in 2015. Partners Investment and Murex Partners had led its most recent funding round.

‘Enter Thee Hottieverse’ will run in Los Angeles at the AMC The Grove 14 movie theater from April 5-10. Subsequent shows will be held at theaters in San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Miami, Charlotte, Washington D.C., and New York.
