The Australian fund manager BetaShares has introduced a BetaShares ETF on the Australian Securities Exchange. It will be traded under the MTAV ticker. The fund exposes investors to a wide range of top international businesses actively creating, developing, and running the metaverse, from Meta to NVIDIA.

According to a recent Financial Standard report, the ETF seeks to follow the Bloomberg Metaverse Select Index and currently provides exposure to a portfolio of 32 businesses, including Roblox, NVIDIA, and Meta Platforms, that derive a portion of their earnings from ventures in the metaverse domain.

MTAV is the first ETF of its kind in Australia, according to the company’s official statement. It gives investors a simple and affordable way to access a portfolio of international brands that drive the burgeoning metaverse industry.

Notably, the ETF also provides exposure to significant, successful entertainment and technology enterprises, as well as specialized businesses concentrating on the key technologies enabling the metaverse.

People in the cryptocurrency community, including heavyweights like Vitalik Buterin, the creator of Ethereum, have indicated their support for the metaverse. The Ethereum executive reportedly declared that the metaverse “will happen.” He did, however, voice reservations about corporate initiatives in the arena.

According to Alex Vynokur, CEO of BetaShares, the newly established fund will offer exposure to “megatrends.”

“While still in the early stages of evolution, the metaverse has the potential to be one of the biggest secular growth trends of the coming decades,” he said.

The metaverse has attracted the attention of numerous businesses. And with the level of belief still strong, experts predict that it will grow into a multi-billion dollar industry. The value of the worldwide market in 2021 was about $40 billion. According to current reports, it is anticipated to reach a value of $1,607.12 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 50.74 percent between 2022 and 2030.
