The leading location-based metaverse solutions provider, XR Immersive Tech, announced that its UNCONTAINED Hyper-Immersive VR attraction is officially open with its first client. Starting on July 7, 2022, visitors at one of British Columbia’s most popular family attractions, Playland Amusement Park, and the largest ticketed event in BC, the annual PNE Fair in Vancouver, can enjoy the immersive experience on offer by UNCONTAINED.
Playland Amusement Park and the PNE Fair attract visitors of all ages from across the region and beyond. PNE was established in 1910 and sits on 114 acres of land, housing Canada’s oldest amusement park, Playland, and one of the world’s well-known heritage roller coasters, the Playland Wooden Coaster.
During the operating season from June to September, the Playland Amusement Park draws over 300,000 guests.

The Playland Amusement Park is perfect for the homegrown Vancouver company to bring its UNCONTAINED offering to customers. As one of Canada’s largest and oldest amusement parks, Playland provides a brilliant opportunity for the company to gain relevant feedback for its product.
The collaboration will also offer a first look at the flagship game – Deep Signal. Playland guests can enjoy several hyper-immersive features, such as heat and cold environmental effects, haptic feedback on consoles, rumble or motion floor, and a first-of-its-kind XR spatial audio system.
The complete gameplay experience can be deployed at any location with the equivalent of 5 parking spots, outdoor or indoor. XR Immersive Tech has begun shipping UNCONTAINED units for those interested in introducing the experience at their own venues.
