The leading series of worldwide immersive tech-focused events, Augmented World Expo (AWE), has launched an ‘XPrize’-style’ (XR Innovation) challenge to encourage businesses to resolve the greatest threat dawning upon humankind – climate change.
AWE hosts augmented reality and virtual reality conferences across the USA, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, bringing together CEOs, CTOs, developers, creative agencies, analysts, and investors to explore exciting opportunities in the industry.
The newly-launched year-long innovation challenge comes with a USD 100,000 no strings attached cash prize. The winning entry won’t be bound by any strictures or limitations, and the intellectual property will stay in the hands of the team itself. The winners of the challenge will be declared at AWE USA 2023, parallel to the Auggie Awards.
“The last two decades have demonstrated all-too-conclusively how climate change is in the process of dramatically reshaping everything from global terrain to water shortages and threatening humanity,” said Ori Inbar, co-founder of AWE.
The organization believes that AR and VR tech has the potential to alter people’s behavior to leave a positive impact on climate change. Over the past decade, the community has been working in this direction and has created this new initiative to bring innovative XR solutions that help solve this problem.
AWE has been one of the most trusted XR brands, with over 5,000 companies and 50,000 professionals under its umbrella. The entire ecosystem brings together end-users and solution providers in a curated setting.
It offers numerous online webinars and local meetups in 20+ cities around the world. Beneficiaries can access high-quality educational classes and workshops delivered by the best instructors from the XR community. Moreover, its most sought-after offering is the ‘Auggie Awards,’ XR industry’s most prestigious and long-standing awards competition.
