The pioneering global real estate company, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW), has announced the addition of two new high-tech arenas featuring exciting VR experiences powered by the VR-focused game development studio, DIVR Labs.

The new locations, a 285 sqm arena at Westfield Mall of Scandinavia in Stockholm and a 330 sqm arena at Westfield London, are set to open in June and July, respectively. The arenas will bring diverse, original story-based experiences, ranging from family-friendly adventures to fantasy and science-fiction thrillers, to the audiences.

DIVR Labs has created a remarkable setup that takes visitors in groups of four through a series of shared virtual reality experiences. The entire apparatus features high-end hardware, delivering wireless streaming in 5K resolution and providing multi-sensory feedback through wind, heat, and vibration effects.

URW aims to transform the Westfield centers into a platform that brings the latest, innovative experiences built by pioneering tech companies and global brands to audiences, as stated by the company’s Chief Customer Officer, Caroline Puechoultres. With the emergence of novel entertainment concepts, such as ‘competitive socializing,’ innumerable opportunities are emerging in the sector to provide truly unique experiences to customers.

“The signing of DIVR Labs continues the company’s work to diversify our offer, ultimately providing our customers a more choice and a more personalized experience,” said Caroline.

The collaboration is an excellent opportunity for DIVR Labs to bring their product to the UK and Scandinavian markets and capture a new audience through the two flagship Westfield centers.

The company will begin by introducing the ‘Meet the Dinosaurs’ experience, which has been a disrupter in the market of virtual reality gaming. The adventure takes the visitors 90 million years into the past to interact with a lifelike T-Rex and fly alongside dinosaurs. The company is also planning to launch a new virtual reality game in late summer.

“We hope this is just the beginning of a long-standing partnership with URW,” Lukáš Marek, CEO at DIVR Labs.
